Description
Williamsburg Dances (2025) is a set of a six stylized dance movements for organ that blend traditional elements with contemporary mixed modality. The music was conceived to be effective even on the smallest one manual chamber organs (and in unequal temperaments up through 1/5th comma meantone). Dynamics and registration suggestions are intentionally omitted so as to allow for the widest possible use. (Even an instrument of one or two stops will suffice.) However, with taking advantage of varied registration possibilities, it is certainly possible to play the music on a larger instrument, and pedal may be added where appropriate.
Contents: Intrada, Waltz, Musette, Basse Danse, Lament and Slow Waltz, Quickstep
Duration: ca. 12′
